Rio Celeste
Night Walk
As the sun sets in Katira, the forest transforms. A completely different world awakens — and for 2 hours, you’ll explore it with an expert naturalist guide.
A Sensorial Journey into the Nocturnal Rainforest
When the last light fades from the Katira sky, the daytime world gives way to something entirely different. The air fills with the calls of frogs, the click of insects, and the rustle of nocturnal creatures beginning their night.
Our expert guides know exactly where to look — under leaves, inside bromeliad cups, on vine-wrapped branches — to reveal wildlife that most visitors never imagine exists in these forests.
The Red-Eyed Tree Frog
Agalychnis callidryas — the jewel of the Costa Rican rainforest. Vivid green body, orange toes, and the most iconic red eyes in the animal kingdom. Seeing one in the wild, perched on a wet leaf in your torchlight, is a moment you never forget.
Wildlife Highlights of the Night
Each night walk reveals a different cast of characters. Here are the stars of the show.
